Corning Community College stands as a testimony to our region's ability to take a great vision through to completion. Founded in 1956 by the Corning-Painted Post School District, CCC began modestly in a scattering of old buildings in the city of Corning.

Today, we encompass a 550-acre main campus on Spencer Hill with a complex of eight buildings plus an observatory and planetarium. We've also expanded our vision to provide services at a variety of off-campus sites throughout Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler counties. We are truly a community college, and proud of it.

CCC is a member of the State University of New York (SUNY), and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the National League for Nursing.

To advance the State University of New York in its mission and vision, Chancellor Nancy Zimpher is leading the formation and implementation of a SUNY-wide strategic plan that will guide SUNY for the next five years and advise SUNY in its development for the next ten years. This ambitious statewide collaborative planning process includes gathering observations, suggestions, ideas and comments, and engaging many stakeholders through campus visits, town hall meetings, and other outreach. The planning process is intended to be transparent, collaborative and progressive. The four planning phases can be viewed by clicking the SUNY button below:
